Perfectly Imperfect.

HELLO THERE! I wanted to take the time to let you know my approach to yoga. I hope that this explanation inspires and encourages you to begin, continue, or expand your wellness practices. Reach out to me if you have any questions!

  1. Yoga is for the flexible and the non-flexible…but most importantly, yoga is for the willing. It takes discipline to humble your EGO, silence those INSECURITIES and accept the current state of your mind and body. It also helps to become excited about all of its POTENTIAL.
  2. You must live in your truth and honor yourself. At every stage and in every way. This is not an EXCUSE to be a jerk to people and evade responsibility, but it is PERMISSION to be compassionate towards yourself and approach your self-study with curiosity.
  3. I like to practice yogi principles/limbs in all aspects of my life, not just in class/on the mat. Some are way more challenging than others, but I try. The 8 limbs are: the yamas (restraints/disciplines), niyamas (observances), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration), dhyani (meditation), and samadhi (absorption). It is recommended that the incorporation of ALL of these limbs are essential on one’s journey towards enlightenment, even though most people focus on the practice of asana – yoga postures.

s/o to ELLE VARNER, one of my favorite artists, who’s amazing album “Perfectly Imperfect” inspired me to write this.
