A tennis ball is cheap, portable and excellent for trigger point therapy, self-massage and/or myofascial release. I get mine from local tennis courts (the ones that get left behind 🙌🏾) but a tube of 4 is usually around $8.
Holding the tennis ball on a muscle of concern for 30 seconds inhibits the motor nerves in the muscles which is responsible for cramps and knots along the muscle fibers. This sustained stretch can break up these spasms, causing the muscle to release and relax. You can also roll back and forth – remember to find what feels good for you.
Try to hold each stretch for 30-60 seconds while Focusing on deep breathing to release the tension from YOUR BODY AND YOUR MIND.
